After spending a weekend in Berlin, my accent when speaking German is restored. Two videos in that vain: The first by a band that seems to be successful despite being unintelligible for the rest of the republic. I saw “Die Ohrbooten” playing live quite often when still living at home; Matze, the guitar player, actually went to my school. Friendly people, and a great act to see on stage. The song is about leaving Berlin during the cold and ruthless winter there, something I haven’t quite achieved by swapping Germany’s capital with the UK. But, it’s India this Christmas and New Year’s, so I better don’t complain.
The second song is a Youtube-wonder, i.e. a band that first released their video online and then got signed by a major Hip-Hop label. “Icke und Er”, well, debatable music, but strangely quite catchy after having listened to it for a few times. Heavy Berlin accent as well.
